• This is the 129th season of Cadillac Viking Football.
  • Cadillac’s official enrollment for this season, based on last year’s student count, is 834. Cadillac will be in Division 3 this year for the playoffs should they qualify. Schools with enrollment between 800 and 1075 will compete in Division 3 according to the MHSAA. Of the 60 teams in Division 3, Cadillac is the 6th largest.
  • Nick Winkler begins his second year as head coach of the Vikings. He is the 32nd head coach in school history.
  • Cadillac’s once again opens with the Midland Chemics. Cadillac’s historical record versus Midland is 2-4. Cadillac faced off against Midland in their first two playoff games in 1991 and 2000. Midland won last season’s opener 20-17 in overtime.
  • This will be the second year of the expanded Big North Conference. Last year Marquette, Escanaba and Sault Ste. Marie joined the BNC for football. The Vikings cross the bridge to play Sault Ste Marie and Marquette this fall. They will host Escanaba. Cadillac plays Gaylord, reigning Big North Conference Champions, in week 5. Gaylord graduated a lot of their key players. Petoskey is probably the favorite to win the conference. This year’s matchup will be the 110th matchup! Petoskey’s head coach is MHSFCA Hall of Famer, and former Cadillac head coach, Jim Webb. With 22 seniors Cadillac should be competitive with everyone on the schedule and could be a dark horse for the conference championship.
  • Cadillac will face two opponents it has never faced before this season in Greenville (Week 7) and Freeland (Week 9).
